The Hunt For Philip Seymour Hoffman's Killer Is Ongoing..
The New York Post reports that law
enforcement is going to "find the source" of
the heroin that allegedly killed Philip Seymour
Hoffman. Let's ignore the fact "celebrity
overdoses" appear to motivate NYPD, and
instead look at how NYPD will try to avenge
Hoffman's death...
Heroin use and deaths related to heroin have
been on the rise in the greater-New York area
over the past few years. The Daily Beast
reports that local prosecutors have dubbed
the Long Island Expressway the "heroin
highway." Heroin is cheap, but "bad" batches
of street heroin mixed with fentanyl have been
popping up and leading to deaths. Hoffman
was allegedly found with packets branded
"Ace of Spades."
It's not exactly easy for law enforcement to
stop the problem. Just last week, the Drug
Enforcement Administration made a major
bust in the Bronx. The DEA said the bust
netted $8 million dollars worth of product.
Teens Who Experience Racism Could Have Health Problems Later
People who experienced racial discrimination
as teenagers had higher blood pressure,
higher body max index, and elevated levels of
stress-related hormones by the time they
reached 20, placing them at greater risk for
complicated health problems later in life,
including chronic disease.
For the study—which was published in the
journal Child Development—researchers at the
University of Georgia assessed 331 African
American teens living in the rural South, who
were asked to rate the frequency of which
they experience racial discrimination, slurs,
insults, false accusations and physical threats.
Their caregivers were also surveyed regarding
the emotional support they offer the teens
with regards to events of racial discrimination.
The kids were then reassessed at age 20.
Researchers found that a small percentage of
the teens showed an increase in the biological
effects of stress. However, teens who received
emotional support from their parents did not
show the biological effects of stress, which
suggests the importance of supportive
parental relationships, as they can "be a
protective barrier from stress-changing
biology."
Benson Idahosa, Prophet Ajanaku died because they did not respect me – Guru Maharaj Ji
Spiritual leader and self proclaimed Messiah of
the world, Guru Maharaj Ji has spoken about
Pastor Chris Okotie, the late Bishop Benson
Idahosa and pastor Ajanaku in a new interview
with City People.
According to him, the late pastors, Benson
Idahosa and Ajanaku, would not have died if they
had greeted him when they met.
He further accused Pastor Chris Okotie of
spreading false tales about his ministry.
“There are people who wouldn’t stop at anything
in running you down. Take for instance, Pastor
Ajanaku, Okotie and Idahosa. Where are they
today? Yes they offended the Holy Spirit that
sent me here by mocking Guru Maraj Ji and
spreading false rumours. The bible says know
the truth and tell the truth. Let’s take the case of
Idahosa for example. When I was in Benin, they
blocked my bus. He went further to say that the
statue of the Oba of Benin was an Idol.” he
disclosed Speaking further, he said “I remember when I went for a programme at NUJ Press Centre, Ibadan and I met the late Pastor Ajanaku. If he had said “good morning o Guru, that boy wouldn’t have died. He wouldn’t have died….. You don’t carry bible in your head, no, bible is not working in Europe, na nuclear bomb o. Bible is not working in Uganda, na bomb they work there. So in Pastor Ajanaku’s case, he should have given me my respect the moment he saw me” he asserted.
Psycho Arrested For Threatening to Kill Ex-President George W. Bush.
A man sitting in a car with a loaded rifle, a
machete and a container of gasoline was arrested in New York ... after authorities determined he was planning to kill George W. Bush. 44-year old Benjamin Smith was taken into custody by the Secret Service and charged with threatening to kill Dubya -- after his mother blew the whistle on him. According to reports ... Smith's mother called cops saying her rifle was missing and her son had left a note in the house saying, "I'm going to work for George W. Bush and the Pentagon. I have to slay a dragon and then Barbara Bush is mine."The prosecuting attorney said she believes Smith was talking about Bush's daughter, not his wife. Bush and his family were in NYC at the time ... but it's unclear how close the suspect got to him. Smith allegedly yelled "Bush will get his" as he was taken into custody.A lawyer for Smith says the note and outbursts do not constitute a "true threat."
WAEC introduces 39 new subjects
The West African Examinations Council has
announced the introduction of 39 new subjects
in its examinations.
The Council’s Acting Head, Test Development
Division, Mrs. Olayinka Ajibade, who announced
this, said the new subjects would commence in
this year’s May/June West African Senior School
Certificate Examination.
Ajibade said this while delivering a paper titled
“The New Senior Secondary Education
Curriculum in Nigeria: Implications for
Assessment” at the council’s monthly seminar in
Lagos on Friday.
The fresh initiative, she said, was in accordance
with the Nigerian EducationResearch and
Development Council’s new secondary school
curriculum.
The NERDC is the body responsible for reviewing
primary and secondary schools’ curricula in the
country.
She said, “The implementation of the new SSCE
curricula began in September 2011, meaning
that the maiden public examinations based on
the new/ revised curricula are expected to be
held in May/ June 2014.
“Each WASSCE syllabus is derived from the
senior secondary education curriculum. In
addition to the 39 new subjects for which NERDC
engaged in curriculum development, curriculum
review was also carried out for 35 existing
subjects.”
In the new curriculum, four new subjects-
Computer Studies, Insurance, Store
Management and Office Practice- are in the
electives category, while the remaining 35
subjects are in the Trades category.
Among subjects in the trade category are
Painting and Decorating, Photography,
Salesmanship, Plumbing and Pipe Fitting, and
Upholstery.
Ajibade added that under the fresh directive,
students would be required to take four core
subjects, comprising English Language, General
Mathematics, Civic Education and
Trade/ Entrepreneurial Studies.
The candidates, she added, would be required to
choose three or four subjects from Humanities,
Science, Technology and Business
Studies depending on their potential and
interest.
Ajibade, while unveiling this, noted however that
the new directive would face some challenges.
She identified inadequate teachers, appalling
state of facilities in schools and large class size as
some of the challenges that would likely beset
the initiative.

Taniam, a first year student, had reportedly gone to Lajpat Nagar with three friends on Wednesday afternoon, and was looking for an address when someone at a sweet shop started mocking him.
Police sources say a fight erupted in which Taniam broke a glass at the shop.

Adamawa Church Attack: Death Toll Rises To 138
The death toll arising from the two separate
attacks on a Church in Chakawa village, Madagali
Local Government Area of Adamawa State and
Kawuri village in Konduga, in Borno State has
now risen to 138.
Armed men
Armed men suspected to be members of the
Boko Haram Islamic sect attacked Chakawa
village in Madagali Local Government Area of
Adamawa State as well as the Kawuri village in
Konduga, Bornro State killing innocent people.
In Chakawa, the terrorists attacked a Catholic
Church while the faithful were praying on
Sunday with AK47 riffles and Improvised
Explosive Devices, IED, killing many of them and
wounding several others.
Also at Kawuri village in Borno State, another
gang of terrorists invaded the rural community
killing no fewer than 52 people.
Council boss speaks
However, the Chairman of Madagali Local
Government, in Adamawa where a Catholic
Church was attacked, Mr. Maina Ularamu said
that local officials have counted 47 corpses,
including those of two policemen, adding that
several others who were wounded were still
receiving treatment in some hospitals in the
area.
Ularamu said that the gunmen who were armed
to the teeth with sophisticated weapons later
invaded another border village and killed more
people before fleeing to the neighbouring
Cameroun Republic.
A resident of the area who pleaded anonymity,
however, stated that he counted about 53
bodies before they were evacuated to hospitals.
Commander confirms attack
The Brigade Commander of the 23 Armoured
Brigade, Yola, Brigadier-General Rogers Nicholas,
confirmed the attack saying, however, that he
was yet to ascertain the death toll.
Nicholas further said that the impact of the
attack was minimal pointing out that the military
was on top of the situation.
This was even as residents of the area said they
were living in perpetual fear as more attacks
could be launched since none of the attackers
had been apprehended by the security
operatives.

Snowden Nominated For Nobel Prize By Norwegian Politicians
Two
Norwegian lawmakers say they have
jointly nominated former NSA
contractor Edward Snowden for the
2014 Nobel Peace Prize.
Socialist lawmakers Baard Vegard
Solhjell, a former environment
minister, and Snorre Valen said
Wednesday the public debate and
policy changes "in the wake of
Snowden's whistleblowing has
contributed to a more stable and
peaceful world order."Being nominated
just means Snowden will be one of
scores of names that the Nobel
committee will consider for the
prestigious award.
The five-member panel won't confirm
who's been nominated but those who
submit nominations sometimes make
them public.
Nominators, including members of
national parliaments and governments,
university professors and previous
laureates, must enter their
submissions by Feb. 1.
The prize committee members can add
their own candidates at their first
meeting after that deadline.
You’re Cheating? Woman Who Donated Kidney To Husband Now Wants It Back.
A WOMAN who donated one of her kidneys to her
sick husband is demanding it back after he
dumped her shortly after the operation.
The woman recently shared with newspaper the
Sunday People, explaining how she donated the
vital organ to her dying husband, only to have
him leave her once he recovered.
Samantha Lamb, a 41-year-old mother of one,
underwent the kidney transplant operation for
her husband, Andy, back in October 2009. She
even lost weight to prepare for the surgery,
which was documented by the BBC.
But a few years after the life-saving procedure,
Samantha learned that Andy was leaving her —
and now she says she wants the kidney back.
(The angry wife told the paper she believes her
husband cheated on her, which Andy
vehemently denies.)
“I can’t believe he now has a second chance to
live to see his grandchildren grow up,” Lamb told
the paper. “I would definitely go through the
operation again –- but I wouldn’t give the kidney
to him. I hate him. If I could I’d take it back and
give it someone else.”
This isn’t the first time story we’ve read at the
intersection of divorce and organ donation —
though the last story was considerably more
heartwarming. In August 2012, Massachusetts
woman Erica Arsenault donated a kidney to her
ex-mother-in-law, Dorothy Wolferseder, nearly 10
years after she split from Wolferseder’s son,
Scott.

HE SAID MY PRIVATE PARTS NEEDED DELIVERANCE' - TEENAGER NARRATES HOW A PASTOR RAPED & IMPREGNATED HER
Pastor and General Overseer of Zion International
Christian Church, Idah, Kogi State, Pastor
Kingsley has landed in trouble for his alleged
uncontrolled sexual appetite.
The pastor is alleged to have slept with one Mary,
his Sunday School teacher's daughter on the
pretext that the lady was possessed with
demons which could only be exorcised through
sex.
According to the state Commissioner of Police,
Seidu Madawaki who paraded the suspect before
newsmen, the bubble burst for Pastor Kingsley
when his attempt to abort the resulting
pregnancy was refused by the victim.
After impregnating the girl, he attempted to
abort the pregnancy by giving her some
liquid substances mixed with olive oil which she
refused to drink”, he said.
Speaking with Crime Watch, the victim said she
came to join her parents from the village around
November last year when the pastor spotted her
in the church on the pretext that she had ‘a wild
demonic spirit’ in her and then ordered her to
see him after the church service for deliverance.
Frightened, she said she went to meet the pastor
immediately after the service.
“He told me that my waist and private parts
have been ravaged by demons and until
deliverance was carried out, I may not be able to
have any child in life.
The Man of God’ frightened me and said he
would only cast out the demons from me
through sexual intercourse but he warned me
not to tell anybody on the mode of deliverance.
After praying into an olive oil, he asked me to
undress while he rubbed my waist and private
parts with the anointing oil mixed with some
substances , he then undressed himself and
used the same oil on his private part before he
descended on me and started to do the thing.”
But I discovered that I was pregnant last week
when my mother noticed my conduct and I had
to reveal everything to her even though he
warned me not to tell anybody,” She revealed.
However, the 37-year old pastor denied the
allegation saying, that all he did was to cast out
the demons in her, using the anointing oil.
He said that some church members who were
envious of his spiritual rise were the ones who
ganged up against him because his ministry was
experiencing ‘exponential growth’.
